What was the timestamp on the post that said "well, y'know, assuming Brooke Smith makes the Lynx"?
Minnesota just cut her.

Minnesota gave up one of the worst opposing field goal percentages in the league last season, which was one reason I thought Brooke Smith was going to help that team. Tara VanDerveer let her roam the perimeter on defense, where she was quick enough to scramble back to the post, and her hands were good enough to let her alter some shots from behind just in case.
The "Brooke with the hook!" stuff was catchy, though I don't think Smith's hook is as spiffy as Brittany Wilkins' hook. Still, she had a wide repertoire of post moves, and a soft touch.
We'll probably continue talking about Brooke Smith as the most naturally gifted player ever to play at Stanford. I very much wanted to see her play at the next level. (Minnesota assistant coach Carolyn Jenkins went to Cal, didja know.)
